33.11.هُنَالِكَ ابْتُلِيَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَزُلْزِلُوا زِلْزَالاً شَدِيداً

33.11. C'est là que les croyants furent mis à rude épreuve et ébranlés par une terrible secousse,

33.11 . There were the believers sorely tried , and shaken with a mighty shock .

33.11. Hunalika ibtuliya almu-minoona wazulziloo zilzalan shadeedan

33.12.وَإِذْ يَقُولُ الْمُنَافِقُونَ وَالَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ مَّا وَعَدَنَا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ إِلَّا غُرُوراً

33.12. tandis que les hypocrites et les sceptiques disaient : «Dieu et Son Prophète ne nous ont fait donc que de vaines promesses !»,

33.12 . And When the hypocrites , and those in whose hearts is a disease , were saying : Allah and His messenger promised us naught but delusion .

33.12. Wa-ith yaqoolu almunafiqoona waallatheena fee quloobihim maradun ma waAAadana Allahu warasooluhu illa ghurooran

33.13.وَإِذْ قَالَت طَّائِفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَا أَهْلَ يَثْرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمْ فَارْجِعُوا وَيَسْتَأْذِنُ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمُ النَّبِيَّ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّ بُيُوتَنَا عَوْرَةٌ وَمَا هِيَ بِعَوْرَةٍ إِن يُرِيدُونَ إِلَّا فِرَاراً

33.13. et qu'au même moment certains d'entre eux s'écriaient : «Ô gens de Yathrib ! Vous n'avez plus rien à faire ici ! Retournez chez vous !», alors que d'autres demandaient au Prophète la permission de se retirer de la bataille, en disant que leurs foyers étaient restés sans défense. Or, leurs foyers n'étaient pas en danger , la réalité, c'est qu'ils voulaient seulement s'enfuir.

33.13 . And when a party of them said : O folk of Yathrib! There is no stand ( possible ) for you , therefor turn back . And certain of them ( even ) sought permission of the Prophet , saying : Our homes lie open ( to the enemy ) . And they lay not open . They but wished to flee .

33.13. Wa-ith qalat ta-ifatun minhum ya ahla yathriba la muqama lakum fairjiAAoo wayasta/thinu fareequn minhumu alnnabiyya yaqooloona inna buyootana AAawratun wama hiya biAAawratin in yureedoona illa firaran

33.14.وَلَوْ دُخِلَتْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنْ أَقْطَارِهَا ثُمَّ سُئِلُوا الْفِتْنَةَ لَآتَوْهَا وَمَا تَلَبَّثُوا بِهَا إِلَّا يَسِيراً

33.14. Et si la ville avait été envahie en quelques points, et que les envahisseurs leur avaient demandé d'abjurer leur foi, ils se seraient exécutés sans hésiter longtemps à le faire.

33.14 . If the enemy had entered from all sides and they had been exhorted to treachery , they would have committed it , and would have hesitated thereupon but little .

33.14. Walaw dukhilat AAalayhim min aqtariha thumma su-iloo alfitnata laatawha wama talabbathoo biha illa yaseeran

33.15.وَلَقَدْ كَانُوا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ مِن قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّونَ الْأَدْبَارَ وَكَانَ عَهْدُ اللَّهِ مَسْؤُولاً

33.15. Et pourtant, ils s'étaient engagés, auparavant, devant Dieu à ne pas battre en retraite devant l'ennemi. Or, il est toujours rendu compte de tout pacte conclu avec le Seigneur.

33.15 . And verily they had already sworn unto Allah that they would not turn their backs ( to the foe ) . An oath to Allah must he answered for .

33.15. Walaqad kanoo AAahadoo Allaha min qablu la yuwalloona al-adbara wakana AAahdu Allahi mas-oolan
