74.31.وَمَا جَعَلْنَا أَصْحَابَ النَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَائِكَةً وَمَا جَعَلْنَا عِدَّتَهُمْ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِيَسْتَيْقِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ وَيَزْدَادَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِيمَاناً وَلَا يَرْتَابَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَلِيَقُولَ الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ وَالْكَافِرُونَ مَاذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِهَذَا مَثَلاً كَذَلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَمَا هِيَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَى لِلْبَشَرِ

74.31. Nous n'avons pris comme gardiens de l'Enfer que des anges. Et Nous n'en avons précisé le nombre que pour jeter le trouble dans l'esprit des négateurs, fortifier la conviction des gens de l'Écriture et renforcer la foi des croyants. Et aussi, afin que les gens de l'Écriture et les fidèles n'aient plus de doute à ce sujet, pendant que ceux qui ont la foi chancelante ainsi que les impies seront réduits à se demander : «Quelle signification Dieu a bien voulu donner à cet exemple?» C'est ainsi que Dieu égare qui Il veut et guide qui Il veut, car nul ne connaît les armées de ton Seigneur, hors Lui. Et ce n'est là qu'un rappel pour les hommes.

74.31 . We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the fire , and their number have We made to be a stumbling block for those who disbelieve ; that those to whom the scripture hath been given may have certainty , and that believers may increase in faith ; and that those to whom the Scripture hath been given and believers may not doubt ; and that those in whose hearts there is disease , and disbelievers , may say : What meaneth Allah by this similitude? Thus Allah sendeth astray whom He will , and whom He will He guideth . None knoweth the hosts of thy Lord save Him . This is naught else than a Reminder unto mortals .

74.31. Wama jaAAalna as-haba alnnari illa mala-ikatan wama jaAAalna AAiddatahum illa fitnatan lillatheena kafaroo liyastayqina allatheena ootoo alkitaba wayazdada allatheena amanoo eemanan wala yartaba allatheena ootoo alkitaba waalmu/minoona waliyaqoola allatheena fee quloobihim maradun waalkafiroona matha arada Allahu bihatha mathalan kathalika yudillu Allahu man yashao wayahdee man yashao wama yaAAlamu junooda rabbika illa huwa wama hiya illa thikra lilbashari

74.32.كَلَّا وَالْقَمَرِ

74.32. Oui, J'en jure par la Lune

74.32 . Nay , by the Moon

74.32. Kalla waalqamari

74.33.وَاللَّيْلِ إِذْ أَدْبَرَ

74.33. et par la nuit quand elle se retire !

74.33 . And the night when it withdraweth

74.33. Waallayli ith adbara

74.34.وَالصُّبْحِ إِذَا أَسْفَرَ

74.34. Et par l'aurore quand elle jette ses premières lueurs !

74.34 . And the dawn when it shineth forth .

74.34. Waalssubhi itha asfara

74.35.إِنَّهَا لَإِحْدَى الْكُبَرِ

74.35. En vérité, l'Enfer est l'un des plus grands tourments,

74.35 . Lo! this is one of the greatest ( portents )
